- (1881-1953)Israeli botanist. He was born in the Ukraine and settled in Palestine in 1906. He founded the Museum of Biblical and Talmudic Flora in 1912 which was later trans-ferred to the Hebrew University. He was appointed lecturer in biblical botany at the Hebrew University in 1935. He published studies of the flora of Palestine.
